Membership Opportunities

Dementia Friendly America, since launching in 2015, has been privately supported by its stakeholders and offers membership opportunities for those interested in supporting the effort and helping to shape its future. Dementia Friendly America communities do not pay a member fee to  access resources and receive basic technical  support. Fee-based enhanced technical assistance is available. 

Platinum Member

Organizations contributing $50,000 (monetary or in-kind) to support the initiative receive:

  • Acknowledgement on the DFA and Dementia Friends websites as a Platinum Member
  • Membership on the DFA National Council, which is helping to shape the initiative, including semi-annual planning and update meetings. 
  • Opportunity to identify and inform selection of priority dementia friendly communities 
  • Partnership in special projects that may concurrently broaden the resources of DFA and meet unique needs of the funding member 
  • Opportunities to spotlight resources or initiatives in DFA newsletter or website
  • Opportunities to participate in ad hoc committees to provide guidance 
  • Email updates and access to emerging resources and information

Gold Member

Organizations contributing $25,000 (monetary or in-kind) to support the initiative receive:

  • Acknowledgement on the DFA and Dementia Friends websites as a Gold Member
  • Membership on the DFA National Council, which is helping to shape the initiative, including semi-annual planning and update meetings.
  • Partnership in special projects that may concurrently broaden the resources of DFA and meet unique needs of the funding member 
  • Opportunities to spotlight resources or initiatives in DFA newsletter or website
  • Opportunities to participate in ad hoc committees to provide guidance
  • Email updates and access to emerging resources and information 

Silver Member

Organizations contributing $10,000 (monetary or in-kind) to support the initiative receive:

  • Acknowledgement on the DFA and Dementia Friends website as a Silver Member
  • Membership on the DFA National Council, which is helping to shape the initiative, including semi-annual planning and update meetings
  • Opportunities to spotlight resources or initiatives in DFA newsletter or website
  • Opportunities to participate in ad hoc committees to provide guidance
  • Email updates and access to emerging resources and information

Associate Member 

Organizations contributing $5,000 (monetary or in-kind) to support the initiative receive:

  • Acknowledgement on the DFA website as an Associate Member
  • Membership on the DFA National Council, which is helping to shape the initiative, including semi-annual planning and update meetings
  • Opportunities to spotlight resources or initiatives in DFA newsletter or website.
  • Opportunities to participate in ad hoc committees to provide guidance
  • Email updates and access to emerging resources and information

General Member

Non-profit organizations, educational institutions, faith based institutions and other stakeholders are invited to join DFA as members. Complimentary membership is available for individuals living with dementia and care partners. Government agencies are invited as complimentary General Members. The annual member dues rates listed below are based on the organization’s annual budget:

  • $250 (Up to 500,000 annual budget)
  • $500 ($500,000 to 1 million annual budget)
  • $1,000 ($1 to 3 million annual budget)
  • $1,500 ($3 to 5 million annual budget)
  • $2,500 (Over $5 million annual budget) 

General member benefits include: acknowledgement on DFA website as general members; opportunities to spotlight resources or initiatives in DFA newsletter and/or website; and opportunities to participate in ad hoc committees.
