The Dementia Friendly Alabama initiative has provided grants to nine community groups to engage in dementia friendly community efforts: Opelika, Birmingham, Dothan, Huntsville, Mobile, Pelham, Camden, Cognitive Dynamics Foundation, and Tuscaloosa.
Through the Florida Department of Elder Affairs initiative, there are dementia friendly initiatives in Pensacola, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, Sarasota and Ft. Myers.
Prince George's County
Through the Dementia Friendly Massachusetts initiative, there are over 160 dementia friendly community initiatives.
Nevada has funded several dementia friendly community initiatives through its federal Alzheimer's Disease Initiative - Specialized Supportive Services program.
Mid-Columbia River Gorge
Through Wisconsin’s Dementia Care Specialist program there are also dementia friendly community initiatives in the following Aging and Disability Resource Center counties: ADRC of the North; ADRC of Barron, Rusk and Washburn Counties, ADRC of Brown County; ADRC of Dane County; ADRC of Dodge County; ADRC of Eau Claire County; ADRC of Southwest Wisconsin; Kenosha County ADRC; ADRC of Milwaukee County; ADRC of Ozaukee County; ADRC of Rock County; ADRC of St. Croix County
